About Carlos Jimenez

Hello, I am Carlos Jimenez. I am an Arizona native, an award-winning graphic designer, performer(singer) and an art and graphic design instructor. Artistically I work in a wide range of styles, and I would say I am best known for my "no rules" approach to the artistic process. As far back as I can remember I have always loved to draw. I always wanted to do it and this would cause me to get behind on school work. It got to the point where my teachers made a deal with me: Finish your assignment and then you can draw the rest of the day! Needless to say, it worked.

As a painter, I have developed my own unique style of art, although the work of Pablo Picasso has been a huge influence. A lot of my work is displayed in homes throughout North America, which I am very proud of. I have painted in many different styles and have used a variety of media. As a painter I work mainly with acrylics and oils, and I would say that oils are my preferred painting medium. For illustrations I use charcoal, graphite, and oil pastels, and I would definitely say that graphite has become my preferred medium for drawing.

It is obvious that I have a passion for painting and drawing, but during my high school years I fell in love with a different type of art. That art was graphic design. I knew early on that I wanted to be a graphic designer. Shortly after graduating high school I enrolled at Collins College and for the next few years I was a part of an amazing graphic design program. For twenty years I worked in the graphic design industry as a freelancer and as part of a team with different companies, including being a Logo Specialist for GoDaddy. I have designed many different items for many companies such as flyers, newspaper advertisements, posters, book covers, websites, banners, and much more. Logos are my favorite to create, and I have created over 500 logos for businesses around the United States and other countries.

The year 2023 was an incredible year, being featured in art magazines once again and also having my artwork featured on television multiple times. One of my major goals has been to have my portrait paintings displayed in an NBA arena, and in 2023 that dream became a reality! I was hired by the Phoenix Suns to paint portraits of team legends Alvan Adams, Dick Van Arsdale, and Paul Wesphal! These large paintings are now displayed inside the Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury! My work is now being seen on a much larger scale, and my client list includes TV and radio personalities as well as professional athletes. Once again I had the honor of being featured on television programs such as "Good Morning Arizona" and "FOX Sports Night" and my work was also the subject of several newspaper articles! I am very excited to see what 2024 brings!
